Compliments
Short compliments
Mid-day text energy. 30 compliments, all 12 words or fewer. Specific enough to land. Short enough to send.
Short compliments do a specific job. They're the texts you fire off mid-day, the notes you stick to a fridge, the things you say in passing. They have to land in under 10 seconds. The way to make them work: cut every word that isn't doing real work.
30 short compliments below — all 12 words or fewer. Steal liberally.

How to use short compliments
- Send randomly. Short compliments are perfect for the random-Tuesday text. No occasion needed. The randomness is the gift.
- Skip the wind-up. The whole point of a short compliment is "no preamble." Don't open with "Hey so I just wanted to say" — just say the thing.
- Use them as openers. Want to start a conversation? Lead with the compliment. The other person will respond. Compliments are good icebreakers.
- Don't string a bunch in a row. Three short compliments in three texts = creepy. One short compliment, then change the subject = good.
Short isn't lazy
A short compliment that's specific can outperform a long one that's generic. "Your fit goes hard today" hits harder than three paragraphs of vague praise. The brevity is the format, not a corner you're cutting.
